Spanish 1

DESCRIPTION:

Spanish 1 is an introductory, year-long course with no prerequisite. It counts as one year of high school Spanish.  The course provides essential vocabulary and grammar structures needed for real-life communication. Students access various interactive materials to practice their skills. The instructor uses a variety of techniques to help students develop competency in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing at the beginning level. The course integrates cultural lessons throughout and includes a mid-term and final exam.

The typical minimum college language requirement is two consecutive years of a single foreign language. Many selective colleges require three to four years of a foreign language.
