2025-2026 Calendar
Closings and Delays: HARC will post closings on the homepage of the Shepherd’s Homeschoolers Website. This is on a class basis depending on when the roads become difficult to drive on. Please check the site during bad weather. Announcements for closures will be posted by 7 am. In the event of closure, instructors have the option to move classes online. We recognize that each family must choose safety for their students. Make sure to contact your instructor to stay current with assignments. Assignments are tracked on Canvas.

Money for College: Where and How
The average college cost is over $38K/year. If you don’t have that much kicking around your bank account, ne’er fear – God has more resources than we can imagine! By His grace, our four kids were awarded a cumulative $1.7 million in merit scholarships. Come hear the best tips we learned about how to make college affordable through financial aid, early credit, tax breaks, and more. (Note: middle school is not too early to start thinking about this!)
In her 25 years of homeschooling, Missy Fox saw firsthand the varied paths God has for our children. Her own homeschool grads went on to earn degrees in engineering, music, literature, Bible, and political theory, and they averaged $400K apiece in merit scholarship awards. The greatest blessing, though, was that God used their college years to draw them much closer to Himself so that they are each serving Him joyfully today. Missy loves helping families through the homeschool-to-college transition, speaking and teaching on high school planning, transcripts, scholarships, test prep, and application essay writing. Her company is called Foxbridge Prep.
AND information about studying abroad from a former HARC student!
Study Abroad: Why and How?
Perhaps Study Abroad was never going to be a part of your college experience. Maybe money was too much of a worry, or you simply didn’t know there was an option to travel to another country cheaply. As a former HARC homeschooled student, who got to attend a Study Abroad trip (Oxford, UK), I want to encourage fellow homeschooled, high school students to think seriously about how they could grow personally, academically, and spiritually by attending a summer-long or semester-long trip in a foreign country. God’s creation is magnificent, ancient, and rich, and being able to study in another country allows you to not only study God’s wonders but also minister to fellow college students. Jesus commands us to make disciples of all nations, and this may be a way in which you can fulfill that call.
My name is Daniel Baker, and I am a senior at NC State University, studying Political Science and Philosophy. Having attended a Study Abroad trip this past summer, I want to promote the benefits that can come from these trips, specifically to homeschooled students. Study Abroad programs are not free, however. That is why I’m here to present some tools (scholarships, fundraisers) that you can use to help finance this trip and to encourage students to start thinking about this trip and financing for it now rather than starting a semester in advance. I’m excited to share my experience and hopefully spark a desire to explore God’s wondrous world!
For the workshops, you can enter through the West Entrance, turn left and walk to the Children’s Center building. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor and turn right. The Lodge will be on your left.
