Sign Language Classes

Kim Pohlig will be teaching a Sign Language class beginning in January. Below is the class information:
Part 2 Sign Language Class
Beginning January 6, 2014
Will meet weekly on Mondays from 4:00-5:00pm through April 2014
(Students will still be admitted on Jan. 13, 20, 27.)

Former public school teacher and presently a homeschooling mom
Cost: $15 per class (pay weekly or monthly)
Prerequisite: At least one beginners sign language class

Spanish Classes

Carmin Roldan is teaching Spanish 2 classes for teens and adults. These classes are for students with some background in Spanish and ready to learn to speak the language. Middle school / high school class meets on Tuesdays from 4:15pm-5:15pm in Cary. Adult class meets on Wednesdays from 3:00pm-4:00pm and Thursdays from 6:00pm-7:00pm. Online class for teens and adults is on Tuesdays from 3:00pm-4:00pm. Other scheduling arrangements can be made for groups of four or more students. All classes are conversational. Carmin is a native Spanish speaker and has twelve years of public school teaching experience. For more details, please contact her at Espaniol123@gmail.com.

Potter’s Clay

Potter’s Clay Co-op will be hosting visitation / information meetings for the 2014-2015 school year on January 31, February 7, and February 21 from 9:15am-11:30am. If you are interested in applying for next year, we encourage you to take advantage of one of these dates. You can register to attend a visitation by filling out the “schedule a visitation” form on the website. Applications for the 2014-2015 school year are due March 1, 2014.

We will be offering classes from Kindergarten through High School. Our subject offerings include Writing, Grammar, Science & History utilizing IEW, Analytical Grammar, Apologia, & Tapestry of Grace curriculum. Instructor: Liz Hale, Certified IEW Instructor
Description: These lessons explore the virtues of three characters of great substance–Mother Teresa, Saint Francis, and Abraham Lincoln. Progressing through the nine IEW units, each lesson provides a specific objective and an assignment. Most appropriate for high school students.
Assignments include research reports, critique writing, fictional story telling and essay writing. Students will receive instruction in the structure of each of these forms of writing as well as instruction in literary style techniques.
